Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data when you use the Cosmoshot website and order a custom star map poster ("Service").

1. Who is responsible for your data

2. What data we collect

  • Order details you enter to generate the poster: the date, time and place of the event, the resulting coordinates, and any captions or text you add.
  • Your e-mail address, which you provide so we can deliver the finished file.
  • Payment information: payments are processed by Paddle (see section 5). We receive confirmation of payment and limited transaction details, but not your full card number.
  • Technical data generated automatically when you visit the site, such as your IP address, browser type and basic usage information, as well as a cookie that remembers your language preference.

3. How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • generate your poster and deliver it to your e-mail;
  • process your payment and meet legal, accounting and tax obligations;
  • provide customer support and respond to your requests;
  • maintain the security and proper functioning of the Service.

4. Legal bases

We process your data to perform our contract with you (creating and delivering your poster), to comply with legal obligations (such as tax and accounting), and on the basis of our legitimate interests (keeping the Service secure and improving it). Where required, we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

5. Payment processing (Paddle)

Our payments are handled by Paddle, which acts as the Merchant of Record. When you pay, the payment details you enter are provided directly to Paddle and processed under Paddle's own privacy terms. We do not store your full payment-card data. For more information, see Paddle's privacy policy on its website.

6. Service providers we share data with

We share data only as needed to run the Service, including with:

  • Paddle — payment processing, billing and tax (as Merchant of Record);
  • our e-mail / hosting providers — to deliver your file and operate the website;
  • OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — when you search for a place in the editor, the text you type is sent to this geocoding service to find coordinates.

We do not sell your personal data.

7. International transfers

Because some of our providers operate outside Georgia, your data may be processed in other countries. Where this happens, we take steps so that your data remains protected in line with applicable law.

8. Data retention

We keep order and transaction data for as long as needed to fulfil your order and to meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations. After that, we delete it or anonymise it.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your data, object to certain processing, or receive a copy of the data you provided. To exercise these rights, contact us at legal@cosmoshot.net. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

10. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies that are necessary for the site to work, including one that remembers your chosen language. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles.

11. Children

The Service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, with the date of the latest update shown above.
